Coaching is a valuable tool for providing one-on-one support and assistance for many areas at work that can be challenging for individuals.
Coaching is provided for managers, high potentials, supervisors and leaders in any areas at work where they can benefit from individual support, personal insights and another perspective. This might include any of the following examples:
- how to work with someone who is challenging
- developing a skill such as time management, communication, etc
- changing a behaviour or approach used with someone or in a situation
- communicating differently and better
- how to work more effectively with your boss or a colleague
- preparing for a development centre or interview for promotion
- advancing career potential.
The agenda can be driven by the individual or the manager and provides an opportunity to speak with someone objective and experienced who may be able to offer another idea or perspective on how to improve an area of performance or behaviour.
Coachees will often benefit from completing a diagnostic to provide greater self-insight and these are available and used where appropriate. The coaching program may also utilise other tools, models or approaches to build skills and change behaviours where beneficial. Working with others, managing time and technology, communicating expectations and managing others are all challenging at times and coaching provides an excellent way to build competence and confidence in individuals to benefit them and many others.
Coaching programs are all created individually and may include a specific number of sessions, a program over a period of time or some other specific timeframe that suits the needs of the individuals and business. It is all created with you and the ultimate benefits in mind.
